MFG Day 2026: Invitation to Participate

We invite our regional manufacturers to participate in a hands-on Manufacturing Day event for students ages 8–13 and their families. This interactive evening will introduce young people to the people, products, careers, and companies that make manufacturing such an important part of our region.
If you or members of your team would like to volunteer for one of the activities or bring product examples for display, please sign up below.

SUNY Broome Community College
The event will feature three activity areas:
1. LEGO Factory Manufacturing Exercise
Students will move a LEGO product through a mini manufacturing process, from customer order to final shipment. We are looking for volunteers to play different roles in the “LEGO factory,” including customer service, engineering, purchasing, scheduling, kitting, assembly, quality, shipping, accounting, and management. Volunteers will help students understand how each role connects to real-world manufacturing.
2. Manufacturing Jobs Activity
Volunteers will help students explore manufacturing careers through a fun, interactive job-matching activity and share examples of the skills and jobs found in their own companies.
3. Companies and Products in Our Region
Manufacturers are invited to bring product samples, photos, displays, or examples of what they make. This will help students and families see the variety of products being made locally and the career opportunities available close to home.
Food and refreshments will be provided.
This is a great opportunity to showcase your company, inspire the next generation, and help families better understand the impact of manufacturing in our community.
